APP DESIGN

THE CHALLENGE

How might we remove the need for stent patients to keep paper implant documentation cards?

THE SOLUTION

An app which keeps patients' stent information safe and accessible.

We began the process by conducting market research within the medical services sector. We found only one existing stent app on the market... which only exists as a source of information.

After sharing our findings with our client, they gave us more information about what they envision for the app. We took what they gave us and put together a hunt statement which also includes the app’s goals and target audience.

Our research led to goals of accesible stent information, education on healthy living, and a connection to the user's medical network, which dictated our initial UX flowchart.

2020 made user testing extra difficult, so we held Zoom meetings with members of our social circles who fit our app's demographic. Their feedback helped shape the app's final UX.

Testing made clear some of the pain points in the UX flow, such as typing and privacy. We implemented a camera in the final UX wireframe so users may scan the information on their cards.

Our target audience is an older demographic with low technology comfort, so we focused on clear hierarchy, large buttons, and large text sizes in the UI.

The app is currently in development. Special thanks to partners Nada Abourashed and Jenea Montanez.
