THE CHALLENGE

How might Morningstar's financial literacy month imagery better connect to the company's brand?

THE SOLUTION

A visual system allowing each day to stand out while fitting in.

Pre project, each day was represented by a stock photograph. They made some reference to the day's content, but they didn't fit within the company's visual standards.

I decided to use a three-part system:one element with pattern, one with photo, and one icon. Each day gets its own unique illustration while recurring shapes tie them together.

Since each illustration represents a different daily challenge,icons and photos were chosen from Morningstar's assets which reinforce their meaning.

The goal of the project was to tie the site's imagery to its content and to Morningstar's overarching brand. These illustrations will live on the web alongside the financial literacy month challenges.
